Fear Not the Dark

Rational thinking dictates: there�s no reason for you to be afraid of the dark.

 

Monsters under my bed shake me hard enough to shove rational thoughts outside the window.

 

But I can be rational. I just get someone to keep me company. Then I can stay there, lying in bed, completely enveloped by darkness, so very grown up.

 

I still sleep with the lights on whenever I’m alone.
