crushed

I worked with a thirty-eight year old Argentine architect this weekend. He was very nice. He opened doors for me, made sure I got a cab alright and made my opinion matter.

He had this smile that just made you feel so…

see? I don’t even have a word for it. And the way he talks with this Spanish accent and how he makes the words come out of his mouth and the way he turns to look at me when he doesn’t know the English word for something was just so…

He left yesterday, and before he did he thanked me for all my help with the difficult project this weekend. He stepped closer. And then he leaned forward (I could smell him! and he smelled nice!) and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I was stunned. I felt the blush creeping up my cheeks. He was right in front of me. I probably looked weird because he said: That was a kiss. Do you do that here?

*swoon*

The last time I felt like this, I was in highschool! And I couldn’t even talk to the guy! I’d get all tongue tied and crap……and then he thought I looked stupid. Well, I don’t know that for sure, but my paranoid self felt that way.

The first Argentine guy I met I have a crush on. There’s another one coming next month. I told the Mister about this and he had a good laugh. (Aren’t I lucky to have a husband I can talk to about crushes and whatnots? Ah, how cool my Mister is.)

The only thing I find disturbing about this is that he looks like the Jesus in the pictures.

  • Ah,ha,ha,ha…aw, don’t feel guilty about having a little crush…just as long a it’s innocent! Your crush sounds like a sweet guy - but after spending a semester abroad, (I lived in Rome for 4 months) I learned that foreign guys are much different than American guys - they are well schooled on the art of flirting! To them, it’s like an art form. American guys are either much more direct, or much less likely to openly hit on a girl. Italy was the only place where I told the guy I had a boyfriend, and his reply was, “Yes, you have a boyfriend…but do you have a LOVER?” See? Most American guys would never have the nerve… So, enjoy it - but just beware, they are very aware of the effect they have on you (even if they act like they don’t)! Glad your husband is such an understanding guy - awesome that he trusts you totally. You should give him some extra lovin’ for that. ;)

  • *sigh* He probably knows. I looked like a dumbstruck highschool kid. geez.

My Mister thinks it’s funny. :) I think it’s because he knows I love him so.

  • I think I would be disturbed by the concept of having a crush on Jesus. Nice that you can talk about them though.

You are clearly married to the right kind of guy.

    Cheers

  • it is BC. It might also be why my husband is laughing about it. :D

  • Perhaps it’s his charater that you’re crushing on and not exactly the looks. But Jesus in most representations (if he’s not…well…uh…Jesus) still is quite a dashing portrait of a man. :) weird? or is it just the lenten season ?haha :)

  • Anonymous is me by the way ;)

  • haha..I’m not to fond of the Jesus pictures..but this guy can just look at me and make me dumb..and he has a nice smile too!

oh well. he’s not coming back until after another month or so..i’m hoping it would’ve worn off by then so I can be smart at work again. duh.
