Ai
Ai was the girl I went to highschool with. She gave me a stuffed elephant but I gave it back to her when we had a disagreement. Turns out she was right.
Ai was the girl I used to be such good friends with until I went crazy on her. We would go to the Retreat House after class and smoke cigarettes. There was a nice windy spot right in front of the pond. We would sit on the driveway, and smoke. It was open air. Kids played on the green patch - far enough that they never noticed the cigarette in our hands. One time the nun walked up to us and asked us what we were doing there. In our haste, we hid the smokes under our skirts and did not dare get up. I told the nun we like the spot because it was windy and away from the noisy kids. I could see the smoke rising from Ai’s skirt. Eventually the nun left, but only after Ai had burned her hand and singed her skirt in desperation to put out the cigarette.
And our lives once more was brought together. She lost her baby about a month before I lost mine. But she gave birth to a little girl this year. She has become my source of hope. She’s stronger, less afraid.
She’s the kind of girl who trips by the side of a street full of people and gets up without batting an eyelash.

I’m sure you will make a small one of your own… don’t lose heart, don’t lose faith but most of all, if you can, don’t stress. Take care.
Cheers
