Praise and blame are all the same.

But what is it about praise that makes you feel good inside? What does it mean when you can’t help but feel good when people tell you how good you are at something?

But what is it about blame that keeps you from feeling good? What does it mean when you can’t help but feel bad when people blame you for something?

Whoever said it was the same must be some kind of crazy. I have yet to meet anyone who feels the same way about these two things. But he could be some kind of wonderful too. Someday I’d like to be that kind of wonderful. The wonderful that is at peace with everything about her that no matter what comes to her will not shake her.

I want to believe that I don’t care about what people think of me. What matters the most is truth. But then people come and make me love them and then they break my heart. It would have been perfectly fine if it was just my heart that was broken but along with it a multitude of other hearts fell too. Ah the self righteous bastards of this life. How many more am I fated to meet in this lifetime?

  • I think it depends on the kind of blame. If you are blamed by somebody you care about and what you are being accused of may have hurt them, you are bound to take it very seriously. If you are blamed aggressively it can make you feel crap, too.

And if you feel crap, praise, no matter how well meant or genuine, can fall on deaf ears. You start thinking “They’re just being nice cause they like me” and that kind of thing.

So yeh. I’m with you, they’re not the same thing at all!

  • You have to look at the brighter side whenever people criticize you or blame you. Maybe we are different because I am a man and you are a woman. Nowadays, being praise is something else, you are right Ali, especially when the guy/girl praising you meant it. Of course, you will feel good about it. On the other hand, if people blame you for nothing…. then that is a different thing.
Well, it is easier said than done since I am not in your shoes……You are right again that “what matters most is the truth….”

One word of advice, don’t worry…be happy! OK?

Of course, please do not forget to pray to God!

Looking forward to scuba dive with you around soon.

    Kong Hei Fat Choi……

    Best regards,
    Anton
